About Denmark E-Invoicing
Denmark was the world's first country to mandate electronic invoicing for public sector purchases in 2005. The original OIOXML format evolved to OIOUBL and Denmark is now fully integrated into the Peppol network (NemHandel). All public authorities receive invoices via Peppol access points. OIOUBL remains widely used for domestic B2G while Peppol BIS 3.0 is used for cross-border. Denmark has been a global reference for e-invoicing policy for nearly two decades.
