About Austria E-Invoicing

Austria introduced mandatory B2G e-invoicing for federal government suppliers in January 2014 under Bundesgesetz über die elektronische Übermittlung von Rechnungen an den Bund (E-Rechnungs-Gesetz). Invoices are submitted via the ZRE (Zentrales Rechnungseingangsportal), Austria's central invoice portal, which supports the ebInterface XML format. Austria also participates in the Peppol network (Peppol BIS 3.0). Regional and municipal entities joined in subsequent phases. B2B e-invoicing is voluntary.
