About Philippines E-Invoicing
The Philippines Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is implementing a mandatory e-invoicing system under Revenue Regulations No. 8-2022 and subsequent guidance. The BIR e-Invoicing System (EIS) requires large taxpayers to issue electronic sales invoices and official receipts through the BIR platform. The mandate began with a pilot in 2022, and the expanded mandatory rollout for large taxpayers is planned for March 2026. The EIS supports JSON and XML formats and requires real-time or near-real-time data transmission to BIR.
