About Australia E-Invoicing
Australia, together with New Zealand, adopted the AUNZ Peppol BIS 3.0 customisation as its national e-invoice standard. The ATO administers the programme. Federal government agencies must be capable of receiving Peppol invoices since July 2022. B2B adoption is voluntary. The government has run grant programmes to encourage SME adoption. No clearance is involved — invoices flow directly through Peppol access points.
